The capital city of Delhi is your gateway to the northern spread of India. Spend some days soaking in it curious mixture of history and modernity – explore the plush malls and the bazaar lanes, street food to international cuisines, luxe hotels to ancient forts…From here, your northern sojourn is likely to have two main tangents – Rajasthan or the Himalayas. Rajasthan is a state dotted with ancient forts and palaces– many of which have now been converted to heritage hotels. It is home to the warrior clan of the Rajputs, and heroic legends are part of the folklore here. Further north, the Himalayas provide an excellent backdrop for adventure holidays – and for those of you who like to luxuriate in crisp air and the sight of snowclad mountains, this is where you should be.

And of course, just a few hours away from Delhi lies Agra, home to the Taj Mahal – the wonder monument to love. North India also includes several wildlife parks such as the Corbett National Park, the Ranthambore National Park, Bharatpur sancturary, Sariska sanctuary – this is where you can come to if you want to spot the elusive tiger.
